My First Full Day

Yesterday was the official first day of my adventure. Wednesday was quite the day just to get to Prague and it didn't help that I was so incredibly tired and homesick. Today was a much better day. The big adventure was a walking tour of the city to get us acquainted. This was quite an adventure because to get to our meeting place in the center square between Old Prague and New Prague the group of us had to take a tram and a metro. At times it was difficult to know where we were going mostly because nothing was in English. So we had to memorize the name of the places we were supposed to be going.
We went all around the city yesterday. It is so incredibly beautiful. We went to Old Town today and Prague Castle among other places. Let me show you all a few pictures from my day.

This is an example of Gothic architecture in Prague.

This is an example of the Cubist style. The building looks different depending on how you look at it.

This is a beautiful clock that puts on a little show every hour. There is a skeleton that rings the bell symbolizing our limited time on Earth. A Turk next to him for lust. There are men on the other side but I cant remember who she said they were. Every hour the 12 apostles come out and keep watch over the people. The bell rings and a little guitar song is played.

A view from a top the hill of Prague Castle

The Gothic-style church next to the castle

The entrance to the castle and the offices of the President

View from Charles Bridge. One of the most famous spots in all of Prague

The living area of my apartment with my roommates

My bed in a room that I share with two other girls

This is the view from my window. We over look the river. Isn't it awesome?

These last few days have been action packed and a little stressful. Hopefully in the next few days once classes start and I get into a routine I hope my homesickness will lessen some.

  2. Love your blog sweetie. The picture with the view of the river needs to be taken during the day so you don't get the reflection of the light. I'd like to see the view during the day anyway. Keep the pictures coming lovey. Great job. Love, Mom
